Abstract Background Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in females around world representing 25.1% of all cancers. The high prevalence and need for early treatment breast highlight importance accurate diagnosis. In order to achieve this target, it necessary select appropriate modality investigation. Early detection by conventional mammography tends reduce mortality; however, has a low sensitivity specificity young with dense breasts owing reduced contrast between possible tumor surrounding tissue superimposition glandular obscuring underlying lesions. Our study included 25 patients presented different symptoms, yet lump was complaint. aim our evaluate supplementary value contrast-enhanced spectral assessment symptomatic breasts. Results study, enrolled subjects underwent both (CESM) full-field digital (FFDM). CESM shown be better than FFDM terms sensitivity, positive predictive value, negative accuracy, measuring 100%, 77.8%, 84%, compared 56%, 75%, 46%, 60%, respectively, modalities showed specificity, 63.6% 66.6% FFDM, respectively. added assessed ability detect correctly characterize lesions correlation histopathological results where could 88% characterized 84% lesions; on other side, detected only 20% 60% changed plan more extensive surgery +/? neoadjuvant chemotherapy 57% out fourteen cases diagnosed emphasizing role assessing extent disease, multicentricity, multifocality consequently tailoring suitable each patient.
